Shaking it up!

Last morning we added milkshakes to our shelves at West Street, made with fresh fruit and Our Cow Molly milk and ice cream. They went down a treat and before we knew it we were getting requests for extra flavours on Twitter!

Real Junk Food Sheffield (check them out - they're a new project working to eliminate food waste. We love what they're doing!) requested peanut butter. We decided to make a little competition out of it... if we could get 10 retweets, we'd add peanut butter milkshakes the following day.

However, we got a bit too excited and ended up making them anyway! Luckily people were impatient enough to try them and we sold out on the same day.

The most successful recipes can often be the most simple. Sometimes all you need is good quality, locally sourced produce. It also helps to use nutritious ingredients!

The Health Benefits of Peanuts

  • They are rich in mono-unsaturated fats, the heart-healthy kind of fat that helps to nourish your body, skin and lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • They are as rich in antioxidants as many fruits - they rival pomegranates, strawberries and blackberries in their antioxidant content.
  • While nuts are high in calories, studies have shown they lower the risk of weight gain. People who eat nuts at least twice a week are much less likely to gain weight than those who almost never eat nuts.
