More space for PJ taste
54 Staniforth Road
PJ taste are delighted that after a number of years search we have purchased a building with character in Attercliffe. This is an exciting development which will enable us to centralise our various kitchens, storage and office resources under one roof. More space and working side by side will make a better working environment for our staff and help us extend the range of locally sourced food we can provide for our cafes and hospitality events.
The building has some history. Originally a Billiard Hall built around the turn of the 20th Century it was in the 1980’s/’90’s the Take 2 Club where many bands from Sheffield (and much further afield) cut their teeth. Following a period where it has been empty after having been the base for the Udayan Cultural Centre we are currently refurbishing to vastly improve the external appearance and install professional kitchens. In addition we are working to create as environmentally friendly environment as possible. Solar PV panels will will contribute to electricity generation (and help charge our electric delivery van) and heat recovery in the kitchens will help heat water.
We are extremely excited that when we move in we will be able to offer many more of our food demonstration and events, extend our the extent of the food we grow, and have space to increase for we preserve food and extend the seasons through techniques such as brewing, preserving, salting and bottling. We will keep you posted!
