We Need Logs!
Friends of PJ taste will know that growing our own produce is a real passion. You can't get more locally sourced than that.
The new project....fungi!
Here is the contents of my fridge - 100 oyster and 100 shitake mushroom dowels.
To get going we need freshly cut hardwood logs to put the dowels in. Oak is generally the best wood for mushrooms with beech a close second. Birch is also good. They only need to be 10-15 cm wide and up to a metre long.
Can anyone help this week?
We're more than happy to come and collect. Please contact us by emailing ask@pjtaste.co.uk.
12:30pm Update
Serendipity? Just in Nottinghamshire collecting some catering equipment and came across these oak logs. One very kind farmer is about to cut them into logs! Thank you Salterford Farm in Calverton!
