Master Cutlers Challenge 2014 - the results
With the 2014 Master’s Cutlers Challenge complete PJ taste can be satisfied with our first year’s entry. We were winners of the Media Mastery Award for highlighting the value of the cause but more importantly raised £1495.26 for the twin charities of Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity. Special mention to our member of staff Julie who raised the largest single amount at £588 for her sponsored swim. Some facts from our Master Cutler journey below:

We have now got an easier way to donate and enter our competitions with all proceeds going to the Master Cutler Challenge.

So to win the weekly free lunch just add “please enter me for this weeks free lunch draw” – 50p per ticket to the draw – no limit on the amount of tickets you can buy.
And to enter the weekly draw for a free cake just add “please enter me for this weeks free cake draw” – £1.00 per ticket – no limit on the amount of tickets you can buy.
Our staff would also be extremely grateful for any donations for their individual challenges (see below) again simply add a note saying which challenge your donation is supporting. The Master Cutler Challenge 2014
We are excited about the opportunity of raising money for Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity and would like to record our exploits here. So the mad, the hair brained and hopefully the successful ideas will all feature along with up-dates of the total amount raised.

Here’s what we are doing – we will be grateful for all your contributions, ideas for further money raising schemes and general moral support.
All the competitions and prizes are available to enter by visiting our shop at 249 Glossop Road or at the Technology Centre (Advanced Manufacturing Park, Catcliffe) – you can also enter via email to ask@pjtaste.co.uk Suggested donations are listed for each competition. In addition a Virgin giving site is being set up for direct donations.
The Master Cutler Buffet
For the next six months we will be offering a special themed Master Cutler buffet to add to our range of delivered lunches. We will donate £1 for every person who is served this buffet over the period of the challenge. Crafted with inspiration from the heritage of Sheffield, our local and seasonal foods and from the traditions of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire. See the menu here.

Competition: Fran’s idea: PJ taste will bake a fabulous handmade cake each week which will go to one lucky customer via a free draw made each Monday. Suggested donation £1.00
Competition: Gill’s idea: A Weekly Free lunch is up for grabs every week going to one lucky customer via a free draw made each week. Suggested donation £0.50. Drawn each Friday
Tracy’s idea: Charity Book and Music Shelf. Staff and customers have been scouring attics and cupboards for interesting books and CD’s to donate to our Bookshelf at our West st shop and the Technology Centre (Advanced Manufacturing Park, Catcliffe) – suggested donation of £0.50 for a paperback and £1.00 for a hardback book.
The Master Cutler Tony Pedder
The Master Cutler Tony Pedder’s favourite food is Winegums!! Ian’s idea is to take the finest Whirlow Hall Farm rhubarb and created a Rhubarb flavoured charity winegum. Will be available to buy soon.
Jessops Hospital Charity Cookies. Our Chef Lily has Created some special cookies for babyshowers and new Mum treats. Available soon from Jessop’s Hospital, Whirlowhall Farm and PJ taste outlets or available on line at www.pjtaste.co.uk
John’s idea: Ebay challenge. All our staff (and customers?) can bring saleable items for us to list via ebay auction. Suggested items include old mobile phones and collectable toys.
Julie’s Idea: Sponsored swim. Novice swimmer Julie has pledged to swim 2 miles at Pond’s Forge – to sponsor her please donate via Virgin Giving or by popping into 249 Glossop Road or at the Technology Centre (Advanced Manufacturing Park, Catcliffe)
